The chamber in the past two years has hosted some of the workers and media leaders in the private institution, they were keen that the upcoming conference will combine the "official / public", and the "national / private," .With the patronizes of the Minister of Culture and Information Dr. Abdulaziz Bin Mohiuddin Khoja, the conference will host the Head of the Saudi Journalists and Chief Editor of Al Riyadh newspaper,Mr.Turki bin Abdullah Al-Sudairy, and a number of the board members who will participate in "open dialogue" with the media present occasion and the participants in the conference.
The chamber is a utility company to sponsor the interests of institutions and companies, it's in fact observing the message of the Saudi media in serving the nation, and give recognition to the role of the Saudi media in general, and the media in the Eastern Province in particular to serve the development issues and the development of the eastern region, and cooperation with the private sector, also supporting its role in serving the national economy.
Asharqia Chairman Mr. Abdulrahman Bin Rashid Al-Rashid pointed out that organizing this event, under the sponsorship of the Minister of Culture and Information, is giving it a distinguish level between the media festivities, and put it in the important media events "Agenda" "locally", and its uniqueness as the most appropriate media in the Eastern region .. AlRashid drew attention to the chamber interest of the strategic and national directions of the media, emphasizing the chamber awareness of the media message, and the important role played by broadcasters in maintaining the home "constants", and to promote development and economic reforms led by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, and from the results that have led to consolidate the position of the Kingdom of excellence in the international economy.
New format and content

The first conference (January 30, 2008):
Sunday conference is not the first of its kind, it was held first in 2008 at Sheraton Hotel in Dammam, 80 from the media in various fields were honored.
At that meeting, the Chairman,Mr.Abdulrahman Bin Rashid Al-Rashid said that the media is one of the major sectors in the Kingdom development, pointing out that the media had played important roles in promoting the development of the country, and they have contributed to the contributions of dedicated service in the development process, at all levels, stressing that their performance always been characterized by honesty and objectivity, and they are doing their part since the beginning of the development process and continue to play successfully.
AlRashid said during the conference that the performance of the Saudi media has always been marked by awareness and sensitivity, especially recently it was a reflection to the understanding and its overall awareness in the international environment, the region issues, the Arab and Islamic nation issues, and the homeland priorities & challenges it faces "movement" of the global progress.
The Chamber General Secretary, Mr. Adnan bin Abdullah Al-Nuaim pointed out to the media economist role, he said: «the media people and opinion writers from the residents of the area and those in economic affairs in the Eastern region in particular and the Kingdom in general, and their positive and active role in pushing the development work in which the chamber serve. During the ceremony, Jeddah Editor, Mr. Mohammad AlWaeel had a speech in which he pointed out that organizing this event is one of the most important factors that increase the interdependence of the relationship between media and Asharqia Chamber to their interest in serving businessmen.
AlWaeel confirmed that Asharqia chamber is considered as the most Saudi Chambers coherent and harmonious with the media and the best proof is in the superiority of the Eastern region in the media vision
He said: «The chamber includes all businessmen in the Eastern region and it's currently obsessed with the great work of Saudi Chambers, businessmen with their important role in serving the country in all fields.
Honoring the Media Women
After two days of the ceremony, the Chamber has honored a number of the media women in the Eastern region, in a brief conference which hosted Mrs. Eman AlAqeel (Editor of Hayat Girls Magazine), who spoke during the meeting and stressed on the importance of overcoming the difficulties facing the media work being carried out by Saudi women, calling to stop the marginalization that played by some media institutions and their right to local press, and criticized by saying that some media organizations and press still consider them a "Decoration".
Al-Aqeel pointed out to the social and psychological view which classify in many cases the performance of women in the media, in which she believes that it has contributed in reducing the activity of Saudi Arabia's media,
The second conference (February 15, 2009):
In the second conference which invited Mr. Othman Al Omair, Publisher of «Elaaf» Newspaper currently, and Editor of the Middle East Newspaper before, and who spoke on behalf on His Excellency the Minister of Culture and Information Dr. Abdulaziz Khoja, describing it as the theory of information and experience and expected that there will be a large quantum leap in the local media, at the hands of the minister.
AlOmair said that the printed press will not stay if it continues in its current form, indicating that he was not aware of the impact of electronic media when it broke away from the press (printing &inks) years ago. Announcing the paper press end due to the rapid spread of electronic media.

The conference was initiated by the Chamber Chairman, Mr.Abdulrahman Al-Rashid.
